What you see isn't always whats truly going on

Another good read by Mars. Spoiler alert.

This one starts with the Black Rock dam in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina.

Built in 1943 the dam was as tall as a fifty story building. The power station that operated the dam was six stories high.

Wes Yardley is in the control room Yardley has worked at the dam for a very long time. The last time the control room was remodeled was sometime in the 60's.

Computers run the dam and the Tennessee Valley Authority runs the computers.

As Yardley is sitting there as he does every morning five red light start flashing. Yardley immediately, after the shock wears off, dials the number to his boss. The red light say the floodgates are open and water is headed down the valley. The water will completely take down a lodge full of guests and several small towns. Thousand will be dead.

Luke Stone retired from service and has been hunting, fishing and snorkeling in the islands. He has spent time with Gunner his son and will continue as he is until his money runs out. Becca, his wife, is seeking a divorce and she wants full custody of Gunner. Luke is desperately trying to work his way back into her affections but since the kidnapping of herself and Gunner he knows that will never happen.

In DC President Susan Hopkins has been advised of the dam and the deaths and that it might be a terror attack. Once again she calls Luke Stone.

So begins another fine read.

This one has Luke, Ed, Swann, Trudy, Susan Hopkins, Pierre her husband, Kat Lopez her Chief of Staff, Kurt Kimball her National Security advisor, Li Quianggua and agent who was caught and believed to be responsible for the dam disaster, an agent everyone thinks is Chinese, an agent who plays Luke, a Luke, Swan an Ed who will interrogate the man, a man who has loads of info at his warehouse, all on DC-Rom discs, a man who will mislead them all and kill himself, a metro train accident in DC that almost kills Becca and Gunner, a Luke who save them and hundreds of others, the Chinese who advise they had nothing to do with the disaster, a President Hopkins and her advisors who don't believe the Chinese, a Luke who gets Trudy out of prison to assist, a North Korean who made it to South Korea, a man who says it will be soon, a flight to Korea by Luke, Swann and Trudy, a meeting with an old friend who gets them access to the North Korean, a festival the Leader of North Korea will attend, a Luke who calls Susan with his suspicions about the North Koreans, a Susan who thinks Luke is nuts, a General who wants to bomb China, the members of party makers and breakers who try to control Hopkins, a Congressman Hopkins thinks might make a great VP, a Hopkins who soon realizes she couldn't be further from the truth, a film showing Pierre is gay, a Pierre who is Hopkins soul mate and the love of her life, a Hopkins who knows he's bi and could care less, a Luke and a team that make it into North Korea for a festival and a chance at the Dear Leader, a shootout in which Luke and one South Korean commando capture the dear leader and Luke Stone doing his best to figure it all out, save America and survive.

I don't know how this author does it but this is another incredible story. From the opening chapter to the ending chapter, it was wild ride. I hated to put the book down. He is a wizard at crafting a great story, and is able to tie up neatly loose ends. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good thriller and a great story.

This book masterfully examines struggles for power and how people manipulate people and situations and people to gain it. It clearly demonstrates several ways of reacting to terror situations that can be blinding and lead to dangerous responses. It considers the role of trust and loyalty in having successful results, and how success in family and the world overlapping yet conflict. The book is very exciting, captivating and compelling. I can't wait to read another in the series, and highly recommend it.

you either clarify that you're happy with your understanding and current decisions

It doesn't matter if you're a new Product Owner, or someone who's been doing the role for a long time. Occasionally you need some inspiration to aid you to think differently about a problem. By considering the question and it's meaning, you either clarify that you're happy with your understanding and current decisions, or find there are holes in your thinking.

A useful addition to my astrophotography library

Great atlas for astrophotographers. 99% of my scope time is spent imaging and I was looking for an aid to help me select and frame targets. I purchased this at the same time I purchased Instellarum Deep Sky Atlas: Desk Edition and The Cambridge Photographic Star Atlas. If you are mostly a visual astronomer, you may want to consider Instellarum - nicely spiral bound, larger/deeper charts and focused on what is visible at the eyepiece in different size scopes. But for imaging, if you have to choose only one Bracken's book is a very good choice. It highlights fainter/darker objects that make good long-exposure photographic targets but weak visual targets, and includes best target recommendations and a useful index.

I don't have a lot of experience with star atlases in general, so can't comment more broadly on hardcore technical merits of this book vs other atlas options. But for it's intended purpose (which was my purpose in purchasing this book), this is a very useful book and nicely presented and printed. I take off 1/2 a star for not being spiral bound and it would have been nice to see some true wide-field photographic plates of some target-rich areas included as well - hopefully in a future edition of this very good book.

A wealth of information in a 143 page atlas.

Without doubt, this is one of the best purchases I've made in recent memory. The "Astrophotography Sky Atlas" contains a wealth of information in a single volume; I can only begin to imagine the amount of time and effort that went into its production. An especially unique and helpful feature of this atlas is its plotting of objects in differently shaded colors to represent their respective brightness as photographic targets. In addition to the usual Messier, NGC and IC objects, the atlas plots the Sharpless, RCW, vdB and Abell catalogs of emission and reflection nebulae, as well as a selection of dark nebulae and supernova remnants. The Object Index is very detailed and cross-referenced and includes object type, location, size, alternate names in other catalogs, ideal dates for viewing, etc. This is a "must have" for those new to astrophotography, as it contains all of the most important information needed for selecting and locating targets, and it will certainly be of value to the experienced astrophotographer as well. I write very few reviews of my purchases; however, this is one I felt compelled to write given the value of this atlas.

Aún se habla en algunas zonas de Irak, Irán, Líbano e Israel.

El resurgimiento del interés actual por el arameo bíblico se manifiesta principalmente en la traducción del texto Peshitta al español. Este texto, obra cumbre de la literatura aramea, dejó registrado para la posteridad el mensaje del evangelio y de los apóstoles en un idioma claro, sencillo y directo, que es el significado de "Peshitta". El arameo era poco conocido para Occidente, pero su uso en el Oriente fue muy extendido, llegando incluso hasta China e India. En la actualidad, los medios nos han dado a conocer la existencia de comunidades arameas en el Medio Oriente, que aún hablan el arameo y conservan su enseñanza basada en el texto Peshitta. Al final de esta obra, el lector podrá encontrar una relación de textos relevantes y tablas de diferencias entre los textos tradicionales del hebreo y griego y el texto Peshitta, que le ayudarán a profundizar en el estudio y entendimiento de la Palabra de Dios registrada en este texto.

The Peshitta Bible is based on the Peshitta text, an ancient Bible manuscript written in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ and His apostles. Unique in its genre, this work is the first formal attempt to translate those manuscripts into Spanish.

This version will help the reader better understand certain Bible texts that had not been clearly grasped before. Aramaic was the primary language during the times of the Assyrian, Babylonian and Persian empires, as well as the language adopted as mother tongue by the people of Israel since their exile in Babylon until the days of Jesus Christ. In certain areas of Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and Israel this language is still being spoken.

The current renewed interest in Bible Aramaic is mainly conveyed by the translation of the Peshitta text into Spanish. This work, the ultimate masterpiece in Aramaic literature, left the message of the gospel and the apostles as a historical record in a "clear, simple, straightforward" language, and this is—incidentally—what the word "Peshitta" means.

In the final section of this work, the reader will find a reference to relevant text selections and comparative tables between traditional Hebrew and Greek texts with the Peshitta text. These resources will help the reader conduct an in-depth study and better understand God’s Word as recorded in this text.

Excelente adición

La Biblia Peshitta es una excelente adición a la colección de cualquier estudioso interesado en aprender más sobre las Escrituras. La mayoría de la gente, me consta, la compra sólo por la mayor precisión de los nombres hebreos (aparte de la obvia omisión de nombres populares contrarias a la más ortodoxa opinión sobre la pronunciación del nombre de HaShem); pero sin duda la Biblia Peshitta amplía la perspectiva e interpretación de muchos otros pasajes y esclarece otros puntos dificiles de comprender en otras versiones.

En lo personal, estudio principalmente de Biblias RV60 y LBLA, pero llevar una lectura paralela con ésta es una experiencia enriquecedora.

La mejor Biblia que he leido en toda mi vida hasta ahora ninguna le llega a esta biblia, aparte de que el precio es bien economico y al alcance de todos los bolsillos. Mucha riqueza espiritual inspira y paz interior en el corazon. Siento algo muy diferente cuando leo esta biblia, es diferente a todas, tiene algo muy muy especial. Muy satisfecha gracias a Dios YAHWEH. Me gusta porque no trae "Jehova" sino YAHWEH. Aunque si les falto poner YESHUA HA' MASHIAJ en lugar de solo Jesus, eso hubiera sido perfecto y por eso no la califique con 5 estrellas. SHALOM A TODOS. Amen.

Considero que es una exelente biblia, la eh comparado con la versión RV 1960, y la traducción es mejor, más fácil de entender, trae los mismos libros, lo único que cambian un poco es la traducción, por ejemplo Jeova por Yahawé, María por Mariam, entre otras diferencias.
La recomiendo a aquellas personas que ya tiene conocimiento de la palabra de Dios, y que preferiblemente tengan la versin de RV 1960 para que puedan comparala si es que tuubiesen alguna duda.

The "Lotus of the Wonderful (or Mystic) Law" is the most important religious book of the Far East, and has been described as "The Gospel of Half Asia". It is also the chief scripture of Buddhism in China, and therefore the chief source of consolation of the many millions of Buddhists in East Asia. It is justifiable to consider it as one of the greatest and most formative books of the world, and the text is here translated for the use of the Western student whilst an endeavour is made to reveal the contour of the most spiritual drama known in the Far East.
