About the Author
C. Everard Palmer was born in Jamaica and lived there until a few years ago, when he moved to Canada. His childhood was spent in just such a village as Kendal, lived in by the kind of people who fill the pages of this book. All his stories have been inspired by memories of his childhood and though the people and incidents he describes are imaginary they could easily have been real.

a carribean tale of redemption

This is the first of the books that I have read and reread of C. E. Palmer. This is a great story that is well told. I enjoyed every moment of it and felt every emotion I think the writer wanted me to feel. I particularly loved the outcome of the story, it wasn't ever predictable. I also felt that the characters were kept true to their caribbean origin.
This story opened up my eyes to the reality that bad things befall good people and all this whilst I was still at a young age and only knew a sheltered life.
I especially proud that it was caribbean literature that taught me the many truths of human behaviour in this book.
This book was lovely I suggest it to any young mind silently yearning to be opened up.
